Event Recap: Spring Equinox Soirée at Held Space Brooklyn

Thanks to everyone who joined our in-person Spring Equinox intention-setting event this weekend — what a way to ring in the Spring season! It was such a pleasure to lead an event at Held Space BK Community Center in Greenpoint. The space felt welcoming, calming, and energizing all at once. Not only did we reflect on themes coming through from the Spring Equinox portal opening, but there was also a full moon in Libra and a Libra lunar eclipse coming up the next day to kick off Eclipse season. That’s not all! It’s also the beginning of the astrological new year (Aries season), so one major theme we worked with was new beginnings. Here’s what went down:

Getting Grounded

Participants arrived and we got settled in on our mats, adding blankets for extra comfort. The energy surrounding us was palpable as we felt strongly influenced by the convergence of multiple astrological and seasonal events. We did a special elemental meditation to get grounded, focusing on our bodies and the interconnectedness of our human existence with the Earth, Water, Fire, and Air elements. Then we moved into astrological readings to better understand how to work with the potent energy of this season.

Setting Intentions

To begin the intention-setting part of our event, we had the chance to explore one of my favorite analogies, especially for spring – planting seeds. In this part of our journaling exercise, we reflected on our progress and lessons learned during the winter months. For us to know where we are headed, it’s important to know where we have been and what life has taught us recently. Then we chose the seeds of intention that we wanted to plant (both proverbially and literally) in the next season.

Journaling for Clarity

Next, we took time to set our goals, dreams, and desires as we prepared to become our best selves in the coming seasons. Through introspective prompts and a special Spring Equinox playlist, we explored our inner selves and identified the things, people, and situations in our lives that no longer serve our highest good. We also identified any limiting beliefs and habits that could be released to make space for bigger and better things to come in, creating fertile soil for personal growth. In the final part of our journaling session, we worked with integration prompts to figure out how to weave our new insights and experiences into our lives. We left the session with actionable steps, affirmations, and reflections to nurture ourselves and sustain our growth throughout the season.

Receiving Intuitive Guidance and Seed Packets

At the end of the event, Sara conducted a special oracle card reading. She used a Green Witch's Oracle deck that was carefully selected to draw upon themes and inspiration from the natural world. Each card seemed to be chosen specifically for the season. Attendees were grateful for the spot-on themes and guidance that they received and could carry with them. Sara also distributed physical plantable seed packets to the attendees. They were encouraged to write their affirmative statement on the packets so that they could plant their intentions in the physical world and manifest them.

In case you missed the event, the Spring Equinox journal prompt guide is now available to download! You can work on these at your own pace from the comfort of your home.
